Shimal is a small hill station located in the lap of Himalayas. Its is the capital of  Himachal Pradesh state. Shimla was named as the summer capital of India by the British rulers, they came up here in the summer to get some relief from the plane heat. Here is the to do list if you are visiting Shimla:- 1.  Viceregal Lodge ( Rashtrapati Niwas) The Viceregal Lodge was designed by British architect  H enry Irwin  and built in the  Jacobethan  style during the regime of Lord Dufferin. The summer capital of  British India  was of little use to the  President of India  who visited it only for a few days in the year, if at all.
