TO DO LIST- SHIMLA

Shimal is a small hill station located in the lap of Himalayas. Its is the capital of  Himachal Pradesh state. Shimla was named as the summer capital of India by the British rulers, they came up here in the summer to get some relief from the plane heat. Here is the to do list if you are visiting Shimla:-



1. Viceregal Lodge (Rashtrapati Niwas)

The Viceregal Lodge was designed by British architect Henry Irwin and built in the Jacobethan style during the regime of Lord Dufferin.The summer capital of British India was of little use to the President of India who visited it only for a few days in the year, if at all. Professor S.Radhakrishnan thought of putting it to academic use. The Rashtrapati Nivas Estate was transferred to the Ministry of Educationto be handed over to the Indian Institute of Advanced Study.

2. Mall Road
Mall Road is the main street in Shimla,Mall road has a number of showroomsdepartment storesshopsrestaurants and cafes. A Himachal emporium that offers handicraft products of Himachal Pradesh like locally designed woollen cloths, branded cloths, pottery items, and jewelry is also located here. There are at least three books shops including one that sells old books.





3. Jakhu temple
The famous Hanuman Temple, It is situated on Jakhoo Hill, 2.5 km /1.3 miles east from the Ridge, Shimla at a height of 2,455 m (8,000 feet) above sea level.Shimla's highest peak offers a panoramic view of the Shivalik Ranges and the town of Sanjauli.





4. Gaiety theater



Gaiety Theater, located on the Mall, was opened on the 30th of May, 1887. Many popular film personalities have performed on its stage.Today, the Gaiety is primarily known for its social club.









5. Kufri

The must visit place in Shimla is Kufri. Kufri is a small hill station in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh state in India. It is located 13 km from the state capital Shimla on the National Highway No.22. 






6.Christ church




The famous church of Shimla "The Christ Church" is the the must visit place in Shimla its on the Ridge, it is the 2nd oldest church in noth india.







7. kalka- shimla railway



The famous Toy train, which take you from the crowded plans to the calm hills, it is the must to do thing if your are visiting Shimla.
