The Nilgiri Black Langur is a member of one of the 13 species of monkeys found in India,which is endangered due to deforestation and poaching for its fur and flesh.

A lot have been known of the famous NELANG village which was the trade centre for the three great kingdoms of Bushahr, Gharwal and Tibet in the era of 16-17th century.
